Update: This post was first published in May 2016 but had to be reposted in September 2016 after a server issue.
On Saturday 14th May 2016, ceramicist Katie Almond got married to Zsolt Kaszas.
I have known Katie since school, we also did our degree and residencies together as well as numerous shows – and of course we stock her beautiful ceramics here at Itch Gallery. I was delighted to be invited to help them celebrate their wedding day and there were lots of lovely ceramic touches there as you might expect!
I only took a couple of photos, but I thought you might like to see them as so many of you love Katie’s work and have been on her workshops here at Itch Gallery.
The cake was handmade and beautifully iced by Katie’s friend Stephen, who we went to University with, in fact, there were quite a few De Montfort University graduates present, a bit of a mini reunion!
As you can see, Katie handmade her own wedding cake topper, which was personalised with their initials and the date of their wedding, with cute little ‘Mr & Mrs’ bunting above it.
One of my favourite details was this cute little stepladder, which had been decorated with flowers and vintage items and topped with some gorgeous ceramic initials, which had been hand made by Katie.
